Virginia's Loss 1
A4 print in a white 11"x14" mount ready for framing. A4 (landscape orientation).
From an original oil painting by Ashley Hyland.
Printed in London, painted in Sussex, England.
Wrapped in a cello sleeve for protection when handing.
This is one of two prints that hang side by side as a Dyptich. The matching print is Virginia's Loss 2.
This is Virginia Woolf's view as she took her regular walks from her home, Monk's House in Rodmell, Sussex to her sister's home, Charleston Farmhouse in Firle, Sussex. The world often mourns her loss and the things that were left unwritten. As I painted this, I thought of the joy she found in her walks and how she lost this when her life ended. I'm glad the cliffs and the birds are still there to share their joy with the walkers of Sussex.
